Artist Alexander Sovtysik from Ivano-Frankivsk lives and works in Krakow. Creates experimental electronic music, objects, installations. The area of admiration of the artist - ancient civilizations and processes of evolution. Since 2017, he has been conducting a series of “Perpetuum Mobile” events, blurring the lines between contemporary art exhibitions, shows and experimental music. A.Sovtysik's projects take part in exhibitions in Ukraine, Poland and Germany.
Art historians interpret his work differently. Some say that the use of old carpets (material) is an Eastern European aesthetic associated with the Ukrainian and Polish origin of the artist. There are also such interpretations that it is a spiritual, luxurious element of interior that is often dumped in modern cities; or complex, symmetrical ornaments consisting of traditional symbols. Sometimes these rugs are referred to as a certain magic object.
This project has received Ukrainian Club Of Contemporary Art Collectors Special Award.
